Lina Unali Somali Queen Somali King, Narratives from the Orality of the Horn of Africa SUN MOON LAKE, Roma, 1997 ISBN:
A collection of Narratives from the orality of the Horn of Africa. The air teems with personal narratives and tales of historical events. Madina, Jama and Dahir, the three narrators of my stories, are people to whom I fell closely connected in ways, at times, inexplicable even to myself. For many years I affectionately explored their lives on the backgroung of my beloved Somalia; I retold their suffering and their success. The author is professsor of English and American Literature at the II University of Rome Torvergata. In 1995, she won the Alghero Donna price for literature.
